1. Urban Air Adventure Park (Franklin, Indiana)

Located just south of Greenwood in Franklin, Urban Air is one of the best indoor spring break activities in Johnson County for high-energy kids.

Beyond trampolines, they offer climbing walls, obstacle-style attractions, and adventure features that keep older kids moving. If you have littles, they host Jumperoo on Fridays for kids 5 and under, making it a great preschool-friendly option too.


Best for: Toddlers through middle school 

Great rainy or cold-weather backup.



2. Rascal’s Fun Zone (Whiteland, Indiana)

Just south of Greenwood, Rascal’s Fun Zone is a Johnson County staple. They offer indoor and outdoor go-karts, duckpin bowling, and a huge arcade.

It’s one of the few places that works well whether it’s sunny or rainy, since there are both indoor and outdoor options. This is typically best for kindergarten and older.


Best for: Kindergarten and up 

Good for sunny or rainy spring break days.



3. Grandpa Jeff’s Trail Rides (Near Morgantown / Close to Nashville)

If you want something unique, Grandpa Jeff’s Trail Rides is one of the most budget-friendly horseback riding experiences near Greenwood — and it’s not far from Nashville, Indiana, either.

It’s our favorite local horseback riding option. The trails are scenic but approachable, and it’s a great first experience for kids 5 and older.


Best for: 5+ 

Pairs perfectly with lunch or exploring in Nashville afterward.



4. Brown County State Park (Nashville, Indiana)

Located about 30-40 minutes from Greenwood, Brown County State Park is one of the best outdoor spring break day trips in central Indiana.

Hike easy family-friendly trails, pack a picnic, explore scenic overlooks, and then head into downtown Nashville for shops or ice cream. (Miller’s Ice Cream House is our go-to) 


Best for: All ages

One of the best spring outdoor activities near Johnson County.



5. Walkable Greenwood Parks + Coffee Combo Days

Sometimes the simplest days are the best. These Greenwood parks are perfect for easy spring break mornings — and they’re walking distance from local coffee shops.

Storybook Play Cafe is one of the best indoor spring break options for toddlers and preschoolers in Greenwood.

It’s a themed indoor play space designed specifically for younger kids. Parents can relax while kids explore — but note that there is a separate fee for the play area in addition to food or drinks.


Best for: Toddlers & preschool

7. KiD CiTY (Greenwood Community Center)

Located inside the Greenwood Community Center, KiD CiTY is a two-story indoor play area that’s perfect for younger kids who need to move.

It’s a more affordable and manageable indoor play option compared to larger adventure parks — especially good for weekday spring break outings.


Best for: Toddlers through early elementary

8. 10 Pins (Franklin, Indiana)

If you’re looking for classic family fun in Franklin, 10 Pins is known for bowling — and that’s what they do best.

Urban Brew is located in Martinsville — about 25–30 minutes from Greenwood — and it’s worth the short drive.
