Fair Oaks Farms during the holiday season is something I highly recommend you experience with your family! Located just 90 minutes from Indianapolis, so its not far from Central Indiana. It’s perfect for a day trip or even a short weekend getaway! EXCITING for the kids and it’s FUN for everyone.

TRIP NOTES
We opted to do an overnight package! We checked into the hotel, headed for dinner in an igloo at the Farmhouse Restaurant, walked the Forest of Lights, and finished the night with a swim at the pool. Day 2 we grabbed breakfast at the on-site hotel, stopped at the market and Cowfé for their grilled cheese and ice cream before we headed home!
The Farmhouse Restaurant is a super great restaurant that is connected to the hotel. The food was AMAZING. Until February 16th, you can book an igloo for your dining experience and I will say it definitely makes it more magical! Most ingredients used in the food are sourced from local and regional farms, so everything is really fresh. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my dad ordered the hoosier pork tenderloin–both would highly recommend it. My dad said it was in his top 5 pork tenderloins he's ever tried! Reservations for igloo dining are required and their curated and crafted menu was amazing! FYI there is a kids menu that had lots of options
The Hotel Pool. Let me tell you that this pool is PERFECT for kids of all ages. It has a zero entry with a splash area that was perfect for my two year old and a tandem slide both my kiddos enjoyed. Don’t forget to check out the indoor/outdoor hot tub as well.
The Forest of Lights tickets can be purchased online ahead of time or in person. It’s open Thursday - Sunday through Dec. 8th from 5-9pm central time and then changes to nightly from 5-9pm central time Dec. 12th through Jan. 5th. *It is closed Dec 24th & 25th for Christmas. The trail is gravel, so not every stroller will work on it. I recommend a baby carrier if you have really little ones. We spent about 1.5 hours walking it with all of the activities. There's lots of fun photo ops, hands on experiences, hot cocoa and smores!
Before we left, We grabbed lunch at the Cowfe on-site which had a more casual vibe than the Farmhouse restaurant! Don’t sleep on it though, the grilled cheese and ice cream options were out of this world!
This holiday trip was so worth it! We will 100% be back to visit Fair Oaks Farms for all the other fun activities they have to offer! See all their activities here!
